Meet Pegasus, the 88m superyacht with infinite range.
Italian design studio Jozeph Forakis has unveiled an audacious concept for an “invisible” yacht, fully 3D printed. The Pegasus is an 88-meter zero-emission vessel with an almost invisible profile, which reflects the concept of respect for the environment.
The authors of the project stated that the yacht will be in harmony with nature, imitating the combination of the sea and the blue sky, as well as “clouds floating above the waterline”. The exterior uses mirrored glass, which creates a multi-level superstructure of three “wings”. Thanks to reflective materials, the yacht blends in with the surrounding landscape.
Solar panels are also built into the mirrored surfaces of the yacht, powering the electrolyzers by saturating with hydrogen from sea water. According to the concept, the vessel will have an “almost unlimited” cruising range.
The Pegasus hull features a metal low-line hull and a sheer nose. The interior houses a multi-level “tree of life”, providing guests with fresh food and clean air. The four levels of the ship are connected by an elegant sculptural spiral staircase. On the lower deck there is a swimming pool and a garden.
The rooms are spacious and minimalist, with triangular windows allowing plenty of natural light to enter. The yacht's perimeter features numerous entertainment spaces, including a full-size bar, sky deck, and open-air dining areas.
The owner's suite is located on the upper deck, occupying the entire 15-meter beam of the yacht. The ship also includes six guest cabins on the main deck, including two suites and four double cabins. Aft is the beach club with Jacuzzi and folding balconies.
Jozeph Forakis notes that the Pegasus is a "daring but achievable" near-future superyacht project in which man and machine "live in harmony with nature" rather than compete with it. Thanks to the use of solar and hydrogen energy, the yacht will be able to reach a cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum of 18 knots.
