Sanlorenzo collaborates with Hong Kong designers to create 'floating villas' for the wealthy

Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo, in collaboration with Hong Kong interior designers, will create "floating villas" for the millionaires of Hong Kong and Asia.

In order to attract new buyers, the Italian shipbuilding company has signed a cooperation agreement with a design company from Hong Kong - Steve Leung Designers. Together they will create "floating villas" and try to fit "luxury" residential projects into the compact size of pleasure yachts and, thereby, significantly improve the quality of life of the region's wealthy people.

According to architect Leung, yacht design has long been dominated by Western style, which is very different from how people live in Asia, especially in China.

It should be noted that the cost of Sanlorenzo's ships ranges from 4 to 30 million euros. This year, the representative of the Italian shipyard in the regional markets, Simpson Marine Group, has doubled yacht sales. According to CEO Mike Simpson, these sales represent 60% of the group's total turnover.

The increase in demand for sailing ships suggests that the financial crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic has not caused severe damage to the wealthy part of the population.
